They're the tags the creator attached to the video when they uploaded it — metadata that helps platforms categorise the content but isn't shown on the page.
Why do some videos have no tags?
Not every uploader adds them, and some platforms have phased tags out. When there are none, we still show any hashtags and keywords we can find in the title and description.
Should I copy a competitor's tags exactly?
Use them as inspiration, not a copy-paste. The best tags describe your own video honestly — borrowing ideas is smart, but stuffing identical tags rarely helps.
Do tags still matter for ranking?
