Can I download copyrighted videos?
No. VideoGrab is for videos you own, videos published under Creative Commons or public-domain licenses, or videos you have explicit permission to download. Downloading copyrighted content without permission violates our terms and, in many jurisdictions, the law.
Does VideoGrab bypass platform restrictions?
No. If a source restricts downloading, applies DRM, or requires login, VideoGrab does not attempt to bypass that. VideoGrab is not affiliated with any video platform.
How do I know a video is safe to download?
Check the license. Creative Commons and public-domain videos are usually marked as such by the uploader. Your own uploads and content you have explicit written permission for are also clear. When in doubt, don't download. Our guide to checking a video's license walks through it step by step.
Is VideoGrab free to use?
Yes — there is no charge. Paste a permitted link, choose a quality, and save it. There's no signup, subscription, or payment of any kind.
What quality can I save?
Whatever the source offers — from standard definition all the way up to 4K when it's available. You can also convert audio from videos you own to an MP3 file.
Why don't I see a 4K option for my video?
The maximum quality depends on the original video. If it was uploaded in 4K, a 4K option will appear here — but if it was only posted in 1080p or lower, that's the highest you can download. VideoGrab can't add quality that isn't in the source; it simply offers every resolution the video actually has.
Do I need to install anything?
No. VideoGrab runs entirely in your browser. There's no app, extension, or software to install — just paste and go.
Is it safe to use?
Yes. You never have to log in, and your links aren't shared with anyone. Files are delivered straight to you and removed from our server shortly after.
Why did my download fail?
Occasionally a video is private, region-locked, or has been removed. First check that the link opens in your browser, then try again. If it keeps failing, reach out to us below.
